Canada’s top science fair students are coming to Lethbridge this May to attend Youth Science Canada's  52nd annual Canada-Wide Science Fair, presented by BlackBerry.   Approximately 500 finalists will be selected from over 100 regional science fairs held across the country to present their projects at this week-long event, May 11th – 18th, 2013 at the University of Lethbridge.

In order to be considered for participation at CWSF 2013, students must first participate in their regional science fair.  The registration link for SCI-FUSION - The Lethbridge Regional Science Fair & Science Olympics can be found here: https://secure.youthscience.ca/sfiab/lethbridge/

Students who are selected to represent their regional fair at CWSF are accompanied by regionally appointed chaperones.  Additionally, up to 375 science fair judges are recruited to judge the student projects, and they will award close to one million dollars in cash, prizes and scholarships for the most outstanding projects. Youth Science Canada, with its National Judging Committee (NJC), establishes the criteria for awards and sets the judging standards.

Beyond showcasing their projects in the competition, finalists will have the opportunity to visit research facilities at the University of Lethbridge, attend a gala awards ceremony and banquet and see tourism highlights of southern Alberta, all while building lasting friendships with other participants from across Canada.  Schools in southern Alberta will also have an opportunity to visit the Exhibit Hall and interact with the national finalists during school tours on Monday May 13, Thursday May 16, and Friday May 17th.
